Tragedy hits Historic Ellicott City, Maryland as record floods tear through shops and residences on July 30th, 2016

Apr 9th 2024

Approximately 3 miles away from the Medical Device Depot corporate office, flash flooding sent 4-5 feet of water into downtown Ellicott City, MD on Friday night around 9pm. Over 150 people had to be evacuated, over 180 cars were destroyed and 2 lives were lost. We are deeply saddened by this event, leaving people out of their homes, closing businesses down and worst of all, the death of 2 people.

Our hearts go out to the victims families, the residents and business owners, and anyone else affected by this disaster. Although we are not directly affected, the staff at Medical Device Depot live in and around that area, and have family and friends there.

The Ellicott City Partnership (ECP) is a local group that is taking donations in the form of financial support to help assist local small businesses and residents recover their lives. Click here to make a donation.
