Colposcopes
A colposcope is used by doctors to perform a colposcopy, which examines the cervix, vaginal wall and vulva and is often used to detect cervical cancer and immunosuppression, such as HIV infections. Doctors may recommend colposcopy if a Pap test result is abnormal. A colposcope device is a specialized microscope fitted with a light and used to examine the cervix for warning signs of cancer or other complications.
